Parish Prayer Ministry

I am currently assembling a group of parishioners to participate as members of a parish prayer chain. Members of a prayer chain commit to pray individually daily for those who have requested prayer, for the parish as a whole, for our clergy, for all who carry out our parish ministries, for resolution of any situations, which arise for the building (heating system/basement washroom repairs),for our parish families, and for one another. Additionally, each prayer chain member agrees to safeguard the confidentiality of the prayer requests we receive. I will coordinate prayer requests and provide a list to the prayer chain members by telephone. All of the regular contact between the prayer chain members occurs by telephone. There are neither meetings to attend, nor agenda/minutes to prepare. The prayer chain members gather socially during the year to celebrate certain liturgical seasons (Lent, Easter, Advent, Christmas) as they desire.

I have posted a Prayer Request box in the narthex. Please write your prayer requests on a sheet of the paper tucked inside the lid of the small labeled wooden box and place them folded in two into the bottom half of the box. As the Prayer Chain Coordinator, I will be checking the box every Sunday and on weekdays when I am in the parish.
